Frank Ingram Scores Top Track Challenge East Alabama Event

PHENIX CITY, AL--The Carl Black Top Track Challenge Series returned to the high
banked 3/ths mile East Alabama Motor Speedway Sunday night for a 30 lap $1,500
to win event and Acworth, GA., driver Frank Ingram scored the victory and making
him the 10th winner in 10 different series events.

Ingram set fast time of the 31 cars on hand with a 16.13 second lap with Frankie
Beard, Knowles, Chuck Padgett and Dana Eiland taking the remaining top five
qualifying spots.  The three 10 lap B Mains were won by Mike Head in race one,
race two saw Ricky Culpepper and Richard Stephens battle hard for the top spot
swapping the lead several times, before Stephens had a tire go flat sending him
into the pits and Culpepper winning and the third and final race was won by Bob
Gibby.

In the feature event it took three times to start and several bent up race cars
to get the event underway, but finally they did and Ingram moved into the lead
with Knowles second Beard third and Eiland fourth, then Knowles battled with
Bread for the second spot only to have a caution slow his run to the front, then
on the restarts Eiland then looked like he was going to be the one to catch
Ingram and he started his march to the front.

Then Knowles started to see pressure from behind with Eiland and then he got
past Ingram around the halfway point and looked like he might be the first
repeat winner on the series this year.  Then as the field started approaching
lapped traffic Knowles dropped to the bottom of the track with Ingram high and
Eiland right behind Knowles, they worked their way through the first part of the
traffic, but as they worked up the field the traffic was just as fast as they
were and Knowles was boxed in behind lapped cars and Ingram continued to roll
around on the outside and then he got by Knowles and then set sail to take the
win with Knowles holding on to an ill handling race car late in the race for
second, Eiland third, Frankie Beard fourth and Mike Head fifth.

Chuck Padgett came home in the sixth spot, seventh to Jody Knowles, eighth to
Lamar Haygood, ninth to Chris Coggin and tenth to Larry Harrod.

The next Carl Black Top Track Challenge Series event is set for Saturday October
13th at the Dixie Speedway a $5,000 to win event,
