CHUCK PADGETT BECOMES 9TH DIFFERENT WINNER IN 9 RACES AT DIXIE SPEEDWAY TOP
TRACKS EVENT       

WOODSTOCK, GA—The Carl Black Top Track Challenge Series moved into the Dixie
Speedway in Woodstock, GA., Saturday night and under very threatening skies
Chuck Padgett of Jasper, GA., set fast time in the 33 car field and then took
the lead at the drop of the green flag and was the man to beat as he lead all 30
laps to take the win an become the 9th different winner in the series.

Points leader Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA., worked his way into the second spot
by halfway then held off a late race challenge by Mike Head to grab the second
spot, third went to Head, fourth to Michael Page and fifth place went to Alan
Brewer who came form his 12th starting spot.

Finishing in the sixth was Lamar Haygood of Douglasville, GA., seventh to J J
Nye of Ballground, GA., eighth place to outside pole sitter Doug Stevens who
faded late in the race, ninth to Alan Green of Chatsworth, GA., and tenth to
Bill Peters.

The next event for the Carl Black Top Tracks Challenge Series will be on Sunday
night September 2nd at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL., for
a 30 lap $1,500 to win event.  Pits gates will open at 3 pm with hot laps at
7:30 pm EST
