Randy Weaver  Get First  Carl Black Top Track Challenge Event At Cleveland

CLEVELAND, TN—A new series sponsor in Carl Black Buick, Pontiac, GMC and a new
season opened up Saturday night at the Cleveland Speedway at 35 Top Tracks
Challenge Series Late Models were on hand for the Cleveland Aluminum Products 40
and it was the “Dreamweaver” Randy Weaver of Crossville taking the first win of
the season as he took the lead from his outside front row starting position and
left the rest of the field to fend for themselves in picking up the $2,000 pay
day.

Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN., set fast time and brought the 24 car field to the
green flag as he and Weaver hit turn one side by side with Weaver taking the top
spot down the backstretch and then setting his own pace for the remainder of the
race.  John Owenby of Cleveland Speedway made several attempts at the top spot
on restarts, but Weaver judged too be to strong this night.   Owenby battled
with Jake Knowles for the early part of the race and then had to deal with
Jonathon Davenport late in the race to hold on to his second place finish, while
Davenport drove the high side and brought home third, Knowles came home fourth
and Rick Hixson rounded out the top five.

Todd Morrow finished in the 6th spot, Skip Arp came home 7th, Lamar Haygood 8th,
Chuck Padgett 9th and rounding out the top ten was Bryant Milam.

Qualifying for the field was close as 30 of the 35 cars in attendance all
qualified within one second of each other.

The next Carl Black Top track Challenge Series event is set for Sunday night May
27th at the Rome Speedway in Rome, GA., a 40 lap $1,500 to win event.
