ROME INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY UP NEXT FOR CARL BLACK BUICK/PONTIAC/GMC TOP TRACKS CHALLENGE SERIES ON SUNDAY NIGHT

 

Rome, GA (June 25, 2007) – The cars and stars of the Carl Black Top Tracks Challenge Series (TTCS) will race back into action this Sunday Night July 1st at Rome International Speedway in Rome, GA.

 

The TTCS will compete in a thirty-lap feature event paying $1,500 to win.

 

Jake Knowles, the current TTCS points leader will try to pick up his second series win of the season, as he picked up the other TTCS win at Rome Speedway back on May 27th.

 

John Owenby will be looking at recording his first victory of the season after finishing in the top five in the first three series events, and is only a mere two points out of first in the 2007 TTCS points standings.

 

Lamar Haygood currently sits in third place in points with Chuck Padgett fourth and Randy Weaver fifth.  The top five in series points are separated by only thirty-two points heading into Rome.

 

A “twinbill” for Late Models is on tap, as Rome Speedway will also host the Super Late Models in a thirty-lap $2,000 to win feature event.

 

Also racing will be the Limited Late Models, Econo Bomber, Super Bombers, Pony Stocks and wild two-man cruisers.

 

Along with the fierce racing, Rome Speedway will host its annual Independence Fireworks Display.

 

Pit Gates on Sunday will open at 4PM with grandstands opening at 5PM.  Hot laps are scheduled for 7PM and racing at 7:30PM.
