CARL BLACK TOP TRACKS CHALLENGE SERIES INVADES NORTH GEORGIA AND CLEVELAND THIS WEEKEND

 

Huntsville, AL (August 14, 2007) – Officials and drivers with the Carl Black Top Tracks Challenge Series (TTCS) will be back in action with a double-header this weekend at two Monte Morrow speed plants.

 

First up on Friday Night August 17th, the series will make its first ever appearance at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA for a forty-lap $1,500 to win main event.

 

Then on Saturday Night August 18th, the series shifts to the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN for a forty-lap $2,000 to win event.

 

This will mark the second appearance for the TTCS at Cleveland Speedway this season, as Randy Weaver picked up the win back on April 21st in the series opener.

 

A tight points race is heating up heading into the weekend, as Lamar Haygood took over the top spot after this past weekends race, leading Tyrone, GA’s Jake Knowles by only six points.

 

Chuck Padgett currently sits in the third spot with John Owenby in forth and JJ Nye fifth.  All three drivers are still looking to claim there first victory of the 2007 season.

 

A host of North Georgia and Cleveland competitors are expected on hand to give the TTCS a tough go.

 

At both events the Super Late Models, Hobby and Pony cars will be in action.

 

Gates for both events will open at 5PM with racing scheduled for 8PM.
